Chinese Hungry Ghost Festival 盂蘭節
You want your gods to protect you
Look after your interests
But what's in it for them
Why should they give
When most of our tribute is only once a year for them, without a permanent home
We salute them on sidewalks and staircases, back alleys and strange places
Burn and chant slogans for them, like what we do anyways, here on the streets every sundays
They get nothing
So in return we should get nothing, only the waste of the torn down makeshift shrines, and the grime from the burnt ashes
Forget what I say
Please donate.
